Day 137 'Making a Splash'

Day 137 'Making a Splash' Watercolor 8" x 20"

Hello to Everyone! I am still alive and well even if I have not been posting my art. I promise to post more often, if not every day. Here is a watercolor of my grandaughter Esther marching through the water at a local beach 'Making a Splash'. This little girl, who is 2 1/2 years old has no fear and is in love with nature, the water and everything that she comes across. I took this picture and just love the feel of strength and independence that she has at such an early age in such a beautiful setting, so I had to paint it. I hope you enjoy it too. $175.00

'B4 the Blowdryer

Day 136 'B4 the Blowdryer' 8" x 10" Pencil Sketch on Paper.... NFS

This is the day to post a self portrait for The Daily Painters Gallery. I have decided to post one of my daily self portrait sketches. I started doing this with a couple of friends to capture each other and our moods on any given day. It is also a great excercise to sharpen your sketching skills. You can use any medium, spend as much or as little time as you would like and have fun. I hope you enjoy it. If you like to see more, post me a note. NFS

'Autumn Walk'

Day 132 'Autumn Walk'
It is nice to be painting again, especially with the gorgeous autumn weather that we are having. It is very inspiring.
This is a monotype print using acrylic paint. The process starts with painting on a carrier, glass in this case, and then transferring the painting to the special print paper that has been dampened by using a press of some form. You never know how it will transfer. The result is a totally different look and feel.... I hope you like it. 'At Weir Farm' Weir Farm is a National Park in Connecticut. I was so lucky to have my daughter take me there for a surprise picnic, with my Granbaby, and the love of my life..... It was a beautiful day, and we enjoyed the grounds of this special place that artists have painted forever..... My granbaby is in the painting frolicing and having fun. We are in the background enjoying the view and the picnic. National Parks are one of the wonders of this country that we have available to us and should try to enjoy more. I hope you enjoy the painting as much as I enjoyed the day. joann.simon@yahoo.com" name="business">https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/x-click-but23.gif" border="0" name="submit"> $100.00 plus shipping

'It's 5 O'clock Somewhere Again'

Day 112... 'It's 5 O'clock Somewhere Again'....I had the pleasure of painting this painting again, somewhat different, for a birthday present. The first painting, Day 98 had sold, and the birthday girl really liked this painting.... so, I was commissioned to paint it again and really enjoyed it..... the painting and the cocktails!.... The lesson learned here is that any painting on my blog which is sold, could always be re-created as an original or a print. An original would never be exactly the same, but it would be a one of a kind. *SOLD Happy Birthday Maria!..................
